The new Compass mobile app is now available for students for Apple and Android. Designed to work in tandem with the web version of Compass, the app makes it easier for students to find new opportunities, keep their profiles updated, and receive notifications of the latest activity.

With the app, students can add classes, activities, hobbies, and personality assessment results, while also exploring recommended careers, employers, work-based learning opportunities, and tuition reimbursement programs. They can also mark opportunities they want to learn more about, manage their applications, learn more about their skills, review Career Profiles, and keep in touch with employers.

The app also allows students to more readily receive communications from school administrators and employers. They can customize their notification preferences to receive notifications immediately, on a schedule, or not at all.

Using the app

The mobile app is easily linked to students’ existing Compass accounts through a mobile code, generated by first logging into the web version of Compass. Once that code is entered into the app, the students’ information will be immediately available.

Following the initial setup, the mobile app can be used independently from the web version, although students may still want to use the web version to complete some tasks. A few of the app features are restricted for North Dakota students because of the integration with RUReady.nd.gov, but they can easily be completed from a computer instead.

North Dakota students will use an RUReady.nd.gov version of the app, while non-North Dakota students have access to a Compass version that can be customized by their school with school colors and logos.
