Your company goals are unique and specialized, just like the products and services you provide. That’s why we take the time to get to know our employer customers, their specific needs, and how we can help.
We can start by reviewing a few broad company goals to see what’s most important to you and which Golden Path memberships and offerings would benefit you most. We offer everything from a free membership to a wide range of paid memberships, so you’re sure to find an option that’s best for your business. Once you’ve made your selection, our professional staff can visit with you directly to customize our services.
Eight ways we can help you meet your workforce goals:
1. Help high school students understand what we do and the careers we offer.
Our Awareness Membership is perfect for helping you bring your company and careers to high school students. We will widely share your company and opportunities (including unlimited work-based learning (WBL) opportunities and employer-written Career Profiles) in Compass with students and schools. In addition, we match students to your opportunities through Compass, share your company events with schools, give you access to marketing templates and other materials, and provide a consultation session to get you started.
2. Get connected to the specific students that have the skills I’m looking for.
If you want to meet students who have the specific skills you’re looking for, the Connections Membership will do the job. Students opt into a matching process within Compass that allows us to see their skills, what careers they are interested in, and what companies are a good fit. With their and their parent’s consent (if under 18) we can introduce them directly to you. It might be the start of a longer-term relationship.
3. Create a future pipeline of talent for my organization.
From our free Basic Membership to our concierge-level Partnership Membership, all of our services will help you build a future pipeline of talent – it just depends on how much guidance and support you want along the way. We’ll help you share your company and career information, connect with students and schools, and find future talent.
4. Secure future workforce through immediate placements or longer-term sponsorships.
With an Awareness Membership or higher, we can help you with Placements and Sponsorships. Linked with Career Profiles, we help you and your future workforce get contracts in place and make it through the first six months of either working directly for you (Placement) or going to a post-secondary program that fits your company (Sponsorship). We help connect you with your student and make sure that the first six months of engagement work for everyone. Placements and Sponsorships work perfectly with our Connections Membership and also work-based learning.
5. Build a comprehensive strategy to connect my organization with schools and students.
Our Partnership Membership is for those employers who want a custom-built strategy to reach high school students and schools. It includes several strategy sessions with the Golden Path team, a designated Golden Path team member, up to five professionally written Career Profiles, personalized student connections, and more. We’ll take the guesswork out of planning for your future and set you up for success. If you want help building a strategy but can execute it yourself, the Premium Membership is a good fit.
6. Foster relationships with postsecondary institutions.
All of our memberships help you connect with colleges and universities. We are currently partnering with these institutions: North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton and Fargo, North Dakota State University in Fargo, Mayville (ND) State University, Bismarck (ND) State College, and Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls, MN. Compass links Career Profiles to related college programs in the system and vice-versa, making it easy to cross-promote each other’s opportunities. We’re making it easy for students to envision themselves in a career and what it takes to get there.
7. Target college students for workforce development.
We recently opened Compass up to college students, starting with our pilot program with Bismarck State College. BSC students can now use Compass in the same way high school students can by creating a profile, searching for opportunities, browsing Career Profiles, and connecting with employers. We’re also making it easy for high school students to transition their complete Compass profiles to college student profiles. As an employer, you can now share your opportunities with college students by checking a box when creating Career Profiles in Compass. We’ll be expanding to other colleges soon.
8. Ensure high schools know who we are and what we do.
Of course, we still have free options for employers to let high schools know who you are and what you do. Available with the free Basic Membership and every higher membership, the Employer Connections Database connects you with school professionals. Listing WBL experiences and posting employer-written Career Profiles in Compass is also free. This is a great way to get started with Compass and then upgrade to an Awareness Membership to reach more students and schools.
