Spring is the perfect time to post your student summer jobs and other opportunities in Compass. These part-time jobs, internships, and other experiences are an excellent way for students to learn more about your company and careers. Compass makes it easy for you both to connect!
We even highlighted summer opportunities and how to apply in Compass for students in a recent email campaign for school professionals, students, and parents.
A variety of opportunities
Summer experiences for students can include everything from mentorships and pre-apprenticeships to internships and part-time jobs. Depending on their school, some students can earn academic credit for their summer work, while others opt to work a short-term paid job to gain valuable experience and create professional connections. All of these opportunities, as well as job shadows, can be posted in Compass. As students browse for experiences, they can also click through to learn about related careers and what it’s like to work at your company.
Benefits to your company
Accepting a student for a summer opportunity provides you with a chance to connect with a student while they are still making decisions about their future. You can give them a meaningful, hands-on work experience that allows them to understand your work culture, get to know your employees, understand your products and services, and picture themselves working there in the future.
It’s also a chance for you to catch up on some of your projects or get a start on something you’ve been planning for a while. Students can bring valuable skills, including customer service, finance and business practices, social media and other marketing knowledge, and trade-specific skills that can make a significant contribution to your company. With a little guidance and mentorship, you can help students adapt their skills and talents to the unique needs of your company. You are investing in a student who could return for another work-based learning experience and/or a future job.
