Career Profiles
At Golden Path, we believe that career exploration should be meaningful and provide real-life examples of real-life careers. That’s why we created Career Profiles.
Compass Platform
These in-depth career descriptions are featured in our online platform, Compass. They highlight specific roles at actual companies, giving students the detailed information they need to picture themselves working in those careers and how to get there. Even better – Compass uses students’ profile information to proactively match them to the Career Profiles that are the best fit.
Opportunities
Career Profiles share what it’s really like to work in a career at a company and what it takes to get there. They are a great option for roles that are in high demand, challenging to fill, not well understood, or new. In addition, they enable employers to develop future workforce by attracting the interest of students while they are still in high school.
Customization
Employers can customize Career Profiles to include the details that are most important to them. They also decide if their Career Profiles are listed as “Information Only,” “Available Now,” or if they include a “Sponsorship,” tuition reimbursement in exchange for a signed work agreement.
What Makes Career Profiles Unique
Career Profiles are more than a job description. Here are some of the ways they stand out:
1. Written specifically for high school students
Career Profiles are written for high schoolers with engaging descriptions and relatable content. The interesting and exciting aspects of the career and company are the focus. We explain technical items, use an upbeat and welcoming tone, and help high schoolers picture themselves working in this role. We can include links to videos, websites, testimonials, whatever you want.
2. Focus on career paths and education
Students are interested in what it takes to enter a career. Career Profiles feature valuable information about required skills, training, and education, including preferred college programs, degrees, and schools.
3. Align with student experiences
We help students understand how the experiences they’re having in high school (classes, activities, hobbies, and interests) relate to potential careers. Career Profiles include this information so students can more easily connect with careers based on what they already enjoy.
4. Connect with work-based learning
Work-based learning (WBL) and Career Profiles work together in Compass. We encourage employers to create Career Profiles first and then build WBL opportunities that support those roles. The WBL opportunities can give students a taste of that career while still in high school, driving student interest, experience, and helping you build a relationship with students.
5. Written by our professional team
You can create your own Career Profiles in Compass or hire our writers to complete the profiles for you. The online entry form in Compass is easy to use and we provide an additional template with best practices, sample copy, and recommendations. If you hire Golden Path to write your profile, we can conduct in-depth interviews with your employees currently in the role and really get into the specifics of the career. We handle all of the writing, post the profile in Compass, and provide you with a full report for reference.
