You can use your company Career Profiles in Compass to build connections with students at any stage in their career exploration. They are a great tool for highlighting important information about your company, work culture, careers, and more.

Students are proactively matched with your Career Profiles in Compass, making it easy for them to learn more about your company, work culture, career paths, and more.

But you can leverage your profiles for even more connections!

Career Profiles are one of your greatest assets in Compass. They are written specifically for students to highlight what it means to work at your company and how their skills and interests might fit your careers. You’re getting them excited today about something they can do in the future. This means students can use your Career Profile at any stage of their career planning.

It also means you can use Career Profiles at any stage in your connection-building with students. Think of Career Profiles as your go-to resource for sharing your company and careers in a way that speaks to students.

Here are seven ways to use Career Profiles to connect with students:

1. Use them with your other resources.

Complement your other recruitment materials with your Compass Career Profiles, which are designed specifically for students. Between your employer profile and Career Profiles, they’ll see who you are and what you do – and picture how they could fit it.

2. Share with all schools in Compass.

You choose the audience for your Career Profiles. By expanding it to “All Schools”, as well as both “High School Students” and “College” students, you broaden your audience. All school professionals in Compass will also see your Career Profiles and could potentially incorporate them into lesson plans.

3. Use them with work-based learning, job shadows, or events.

If a student signs up for a job shadow, meets you at a career fair, or applies for a work-based learning experience (like an internship), encourage them to check out your Career Profiles before any next steps. Often students have questions about your industry, what your careers really involve, or how much schooling they need. Career Profiles answer all of these and more!

4. Connect with college programs in Compass.

College programs and Career Profiles work together in Compass. They reference to each other, so if your company likes to hire from a specific college program, we can tailor your Career Profile to be linked to a program’s page and the college program to be linked to your Career Profile. Encourage the colleges you work with to add your account to their page in Compass, so your Career Profiles make even more connections for you.

5. Take advantage of the open URLs.

Our paid employer members receive open URLs for their Compass employer profiles and Career Profiles. Use these links to share your Compass information in your own marketing materials, including printed collateral, social media posts, and even on your website. We make it easy for you to share your Compass resources. (Select the “Open Access URL” button under your logo on your employer profile or “Generate URL” from the top right corner of your Career Profile intake forms for your unique links.)

6. Add more Career Profiles.

Increase your student matches in Compass and your opportunities for actively sharing Career Profiles by adding more in Compass. We encourage you to feature a variety of careers in terms of industries, required education, and required experience.

Remember, you can write and publish as many Career Profiles as you’d like with any Golden Path paid employer membership. Use this template to get started.

Connections Memberships and higher include at least one Career Profile written by Golden Path staff. We use existing job descriptions and interviews with your team members to highlight your careers for students.

7. Let us market your Career Profiles for you.

We’ve got this one! Compass already proactively matches students to your Career Profiles and your employer profile. We also notify school professionals by email of new Career Profiles and share new or updated profiles on our social media accounts (tagging you when available).

Mostly, don’t forget about this great resource you have available to you any time you’re connecting with students. Reach for your Career Profiles to clearly tell the story of who you are and what you do.
